Twisting shapes in the mirror,
Trying to see yourself clearer;
You’re wishing to waste away,
Your body starts to sway.
Breathe, in and out,
To stop yourself from shutting down;
Bones can break easily
But minds shatter instantaneously.
Wounds on your skin
Will not begin to heal,
Until you let them.
Surrender, but don’t forget when
Fingers trace over scars-
They don’t define who you are.
Just markings on a map of skin,
Hiding secrets of the world within.
